Installation Guide for MDL-Series External Cover Plates (CVP)
Features and Installation Guide
Minimising mechanical damage to the membrane during installation and use
With versions available for both MDL and M-Series membranes, the cover plates reduce the risk of accidental mechanical damage to the membrane during and after installation. These low-cost covers are crucial in ensuring the integrity and longevity of the membrane under various conditions. The CVP versions provide external protection for the MDL-Series. The RTP versions are for installing on the M-Series membranes and offer an internal clip mount and external bolt on version.
Material and Design
Both covers are manufactured from durable mid-grey PETG plastic, chosen for its resilience and suitability for demanding environments. The material ensures that the covers not only protect the membrane but also withstand external conditions without compromising their functionality.
Example of an external cover for the MDL-3

The CVP membrane cover is installed on the outside of the enclosure. It uses the same bolts that secure the membrane in place, streamlining the installation process. This design also allows for seamless integration with other protective measures as seen below.
Selection table
Model | External cover plate |
MDL-3 | MD3-CVP |
MDL-5 | MD5-CVP |
MDL-7 | MD7-CVP |
MDL Retaining Plates
To simplify mounting the MDL-Series inside an enclosure, optional mounting plate kits are also available. Each kit includes a retaining plate fabricated from 3mm thick 304 grade pre-drilled stainless steel, and two gaskets. Go here for more information on the MDL retaining plate kits
Additional Protective Measures
The RTP and CVP cover plates are compatible with enhanced membrane protection, including rain covers and environmental protective sheets to enhance the overall protection of the membranes in harsh or unpredictable environments.
