Drykeeper Installation and Maintenance Manual
What is Drykeeper
Drykeeper sheets prevent condensation in sealed and unventilated enclosures such as control panels and surveillance camera. They offer passive (unpowered), long-life humidity control for up to ten years.
How Drykeeper Sheets work
They comprise a rubber sheet blended with a reversible, water‑absorbing polymer that captures moisture at high humidity and releases it when humidity drops. This self-regeneration process is unlike silica gel which needs to be regularly replaced. Drykeeper regenerates.
This helps it stabilise enclosure humidity in the 50–60% RH range. By reducing the absolute humidity in the enclosure, Drykeeper lowers the dew point, preventing condensation on internal surfaces even as temperatures fall.
Composition
Drykeeper is a halogen‑free, eco‑friendly moisture‑absorbing sheet produced by blending synthetic rubber with a super‑absorbent polymer. Drykeeper is REACH and RoHS compliant.
Installation
Precautions for use
- In use, Drykeeper may expand. Avoid placing objects directly on the moisture absorbing surface or obstructing it.
- Do not use the product in locations exposed to direct water or dripping water.
- Not for consumption, keep out of reach of children
Working with Drykeeper
Drykeeper is available in a range of sizes up to A4 and enclosed in a non‑woven fabric from which it can be removed if needed. Furthermore, Drykeeper sheet (600 x 630 mm) is designed to be cut to size and shape and is provided without the blue woven cover. Cut Drykeeper to size/shape using household scissors or punched for suspension holes.
Drykeeper Mini (15 x 15 mm) includes a self‑adhesive backing for easy installation on enclosures. It adheres to curved surfaces and a wide range of materials, including ABS, polycarbonate, FRP, and metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, and steel.
Installation Method
Use the included adhesive hook to install Drykeeper inside the enclosure or panel. Peel and stick them in position then hang the Drykeeper sheets in place, for example on the door.
Finally, insert the included condensation indicator wherever needed inside the enclosure. The indicator colour will change from grey to blue if condensation occurs. If this happens add extra Drykeeper sheets and replace the indicator as it does not change back to grey.
Drykeeper Mini: Compact and Powerful for Small Volumes
Easy Installation:
Drykeeper Mini comes with an adhesive backing for easy attachment to enclosures. It can be applied to curved surfaces and a range of materials, including ABS, polycarbonate, FRP, and metals (SUS, Al, steel).
Maintenance
Because the polymer regenerates its absorption capacity automatically, the product operates without maintenance. Compared to silica gel, it offers significantly higher moisture absorption while maintaining a long service life.
Operating limits
- Maximum operating temperature: +90 ° C (+80° C for Drykeeper Mini)
- Minimum operating temperature: −30° C
- Absorbency: 0.8g (H₂O)/1g (product) Conditions: 25° C, 95% RH or higher
- Regeneration dehydration temperature: 80° C
- The product can freeze without losing performance.
- Typical operating life: 10 years
- Maintenance‑free operation
Operating life
During its operating life, capacity of adsorption rate of Drykeeper slowly declines. The recommended replacement period for Drykeeper is ten years unless the operating limits are exceeded.
Disposal
Drykeeper is made from Ozone-free, eco-friendly materials and complies with the REACH and RoHS Directives. At the end of its working life, you can dispose of Drykeeper with normal domestic or commercial waste.
